REACH
Recognizing Each Action Can Help
Our Mission
To empower individuals and communities through education, skills development, and targeted support — creating lasting change and enabling people to reach their full potential. REACH connects resources, opportunity, and community to uplift those who need it most, recognizing that every action, no matter how small, can help transform a life.
Our Vision
We are an organization seeking to make society a better place by reaching out to others. We are inspired by the lives of those who have transformed their environment, and in so doing, changed the world we live in. They have demonstrated that in little ways, we can make much bigger impacts. "If you cannot feed a hundred people, feed one." — Mother Teresa "Do your little bit of good where you are; it is those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world." — Archbishop Desmond Tutu "I have one life and one chance to make it count for something." — Jimmy Carter
How It All Began
Scholarships
REACH offers academic scholarships to help deserving students reach their goals and aspirations. Our scholarship program is open to everyone, regardless of race or gender, and is administered in full compliance with IRS guidelines for tax-exempt organizations. Recipients are selected on an objective and non-discriminatory basis, considering academic performance, national examination results, essays, and interviews.
Current scholarship projects include tuition and housing support for non-Rwandan students and tuition support for Rwandan students at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK), Nyanza Campus.
Empowering Women — The Seamstress Initiative
REACH is partnering with local leaders in Liberia to provide sewing machines to women who graduate from an 8-month professional sewing course. The course is free to attendees and is sponsored by a local pastor, Pastor Joseph Neufville, whose ministry provides teachers, facilities, and training equipment. REACH provides sewing machines to graduates so they can work as apprentices or start their own practice after completing the program.
Women across many societies face systemic barriers to progress — including poverty, gender inequities, and marginalization. Globally, women earn far less than men, and 75 percent of women in developing regions work in the informal economy without social safety nets. REACH seeks to connect women with resources and empower them to accomplish their goals — for themselves and for their families.
Support for Communities
After the family, the community is the next building block for individuals and society. REACH partners with communities on projects and activities that help others attain their aspirational goals, recognizing that by strengthening families and communities, we build a firm foundation for society as a whole.

Meet Our Founders
Mr. Philip B. Suah, Jr.
Executive Director
Philip B. Suah Jr. is a Liberian humanitarian and the founder of the REACH Organization (Recognizing Each Action Can Help). Though he did not have abundant resources, he chose to give back to society, guided by a strong commitment to service and community development. His vision is centered on creating opportunities and empowering individuals through practical support and education. Alongside his wife, Hawa Suah, he has remained dedicated to impacting lives and supporting young people to reach their potential. Their work continues to reflect a belief that real change begins with a willing heart and consistent action.
Mrs. Hawa Suah
Co-Founder
Mrs. Hawa Suah is a woman of rare compassion and strength, whose life is defined by quiet impact and genuine love for people. She stands not just as a supporter of REACH, but as a driving force behind its heart—bringing warmth, encouragement, and personal care to every life the organization touches. Her presence is felt in the way people are welcomed, valued, and uplifted. With a deeply selfless spirit, she gives of herself without seeking recognition, choosing instead to invest in people—listening, guiding, and standing with them through their journey. Her kindness is intentional, her humility is real, and her influence is lasting. Mrs. Suah represents the kind of leadership that transforms lives from within—proving that true impact is not always loud, but it is always powerful.
